I Surrender

But do I? Read this from Andrew Murray from his book, Absolute Surrender,
  • "And lest anyone should have the wrong impression as to what it is to be filled with the Spirit; just let me say that it does not mean a state of high excitement, or of absolute perfection, or a state in which there will be no growth. No. Being filled with the Spirit is simply this - having my whole nature yielded to His power. When the whole soul is yielded to the Holy Spirit, God Himself will fill it."
May that be the case for each of us. At the same time my best friend, Tim, pastor in Dubuque, Iowa wrote about a verse he just read from Jeremiah 10:21, which smacks us in our face, "For the shepherds are stupid, and do not inquire of the LORD; therefore they have not prospered, and all their flock is scattered."
  • Talk about a sobering passage for a pastor to be reminded of. It's a great, great and awesome passage reminding Tim and me about our call to follow God, to inquire or PRAY, because the consequences are huge if we don't.
God's final message for the night, then I am going home, it's 12:35 a.m., is to surrender to Him, completely, totally, absolutely, entirely, perfectly, utterly 100%. That is the daily challenge for the rest of my life!!
