This series fits into an important genre, middle school boys adventure books. As such, Tim Shoemaker has done an excellent job of weaving life and Christian principles into the story, not making it preachy, but a book filled with life lessons.
The story focuses on four youth about to enter high school, Gordy, Hiro, Lunk and Cooper. They go on a vacation and a prank goes bad and they think they have witnessed a murder. And the adventure begins. The book moves at a fast pace and Shoemaker does a good job helping us to know each of the characters and their needs.
This would be a good book for boys to read, along with the first two books in the series, Code of Silence and Back Before Dark.
I received this book for free from BookLookBloggers in exchange for an honest review.
