Baptisms,Tux-oo-dos and More Reflections

Yesterday was a wonderful day for the Deutsch family. It's an awesome experience to be able to be privileged to baptize your own child. I was really hoping to get in the water with Joshua. I really enjoy being next, right next to the person I am baptizing, especially when that person is your son. I was proud of Joshua and proud of what he wrote and that he did not swallow water. I wanted it to be a special time. It's amazing to witness your children as they grow up.

I have some different views of what should occur during baptism, but our baptismal does not allow for it (I'll write about that another time).

Joshua and I went out to dinner together last week, to Ponderosa (his choice). We talked about our relationship and how we can work with one another to bring out the best in each other. I told Joshua I want to have a covenant with him. I am not sure what it will look like, but there will be a physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual component to it. I am taking this from Mark 12, when Jesus calls us to love God with ALL our heart, soul, mind and body. I see those 4 dynamics in the covenant I will develop with Joshua. I would be interested to know if you have ever done this or some suggestions. I have some ideas, but I'd be curious about yours.
